Alaska/Growing Perspectives

I recently returned home, after almost two years of life in the Mid-West. The beautiful Alaskan weather was at it’s peak, the mountains towering all around Anchorage with their bluish hues and jutting points. I met up with a local artist and model, Alma Sue for a quick cup of coffee and collaborating, then we hit the mudflats on the outskirts of the city. The mood was perfect and the sun brought out the colors of the earth.

As I continue on with my mentorship, I am finding myself seeing things differently. New visual patterns, different thoughts on how I could compose a photo, what should and shouldn’t be in the frame, and what I’m trying to say with the photograph. I am learning to see things more as an artist, not just as an observer of the world. Take what there is and make of it something more.
